Private Tutoring at Lafayette Academy

Thirteen Reasons to Request a Lafayette Academy Tutor

(“The Top Ten” would be catchier, but we didn’t know which three to drop.)

  1. Our tutors are intimately familiar with the local curriculum in Alamo, Danville, Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda, Walnut Creek, and many of the surrounding areas.
  2. Our tutors pay attention to learning styles and study skills. Most students complete a learning styles assessment and our tutors are encouraged to adapt their instruction accordingly. In fact, many students struggle in school because they have atypical learning styles.
  3. We monitor student progress because we genuinely care about our students. Lots of companies say stuff like this—we show it!
  4. Our tutors don’t just “tutor.” If necessary, they coach or mentor your children.
  5. Students like coming to Lafayette Academy because our centers are relaxed and upbeat and they see students of all ability levels. Many of our high school students come because their friends recommend us!
  6. Our relaxed, fun environment is not just designed to attract students. It’s conducive to learning because a relaxed learner gets and retains concepts more easily than one who is stressed out.
  7. Our tutors are carefully screened and highly qualified to tutor and encourage your children. Many attended local high schools before pursuing their studies elsewhere and returning here as tutors.
  8. We have the largest number of patient and experienced tutors in each of our markets. This makes it easy for us to find the right tutor for your child at the right time for your schedule.
  9. Our tutors include young college graduates from top schools, current and retired teachers, local college students who recently achieved 4+ GPAs in high school, and many other people with interesting backgrounds and impressive credentials. We can always find a great match for your child.
  10. We tutor in virtually every subject, 6 days a week (Saturday – Thursday).
  11. We offer same day tutoring.
  12. You don’t need to sign a contract or pay a big upfront fee to come to The Academy.
  13. Our popcorn is better than what you get at movie theaters, and it’s FREE

The (not very) Fine Print

  • A credit card is required for confirmation.

  • If you cancel 24-hours before your appointment is scheduled to begin (or by noon on Friday for weekend appointments), you will avoid late fees. Otherwise, we charge a $35 per hour late cancellation fee because we still pay our tutors. If you do not show up for an appointment and don’t call us in advance, we charge the full amount.

  • There are no contracts or minimum commitments required for our tutoring services.
