Summer Test Prep
Summer SAT & ACT Prep Classes
Our test prep philosophy is unique and our programs unmatched. Still, we continue to improve our proven curriculum and we have already had multiple students with PERFECT SCORES this year (a 36 ACT and 1,600 SAT). All of our programs are also offered online and offline (once we re-open), including hybrid programs that include in-class and online support.
Our Summer Test Prep is Unique
Our students’ score improvements aren’t accidental. Our curriculum and program structure are unlike any other company in the SF Bay Area:
- We organize our small classes by ability level with differentiated instruction.
- Our “classroom-based” program includes up to 3 hours of one-on-one tutoring and targeted workshops (in addition to 11 classes).
- Our “summer” program starts with 6 summer classes and finishes with 5 more classes and 3 hours of tutoring leading up to your actual test. During the school year, our classes are on weekends with mid-week make-up classes.
- We monitor and respond to regular homework assignments, and we’ll let you know if your son or daughter isn’t doing the work.
Innovative Program Structure & Strategies
Our owner is a Harvard Business School grad who has read over 60 SAT and ACT prep books and analyzed thousands of local students’ practice tests. His research and creative teaching methods have led to a mix of truly unique test prep concepts and “best of breed” strategies.
Ongoing Assessment & Analysis
Our students complete three practice tests, and we carefully analyze the results. Moreover, WE respond to the analysis with innovative instruction strategies. Other companies give students their results and hope that the students will respond on their own. Most students won’t respond on their own. At Lafayette Academy, we often supplement our programs with free workshops or tutoring sessions.
Differentiated SAT & ACT Prep
We group our students by ability level and offer relevant, focused instruction. While other companies lump everyone together, we provide accelerated instruction for advanced students and appropriate instruction for our other groups.
